MiraCosta Secures Back To Back Conference Championships

The Spartan women's volleyball team made the long trek out to College of the Desert with one thing in mind, a conference championship.  After another three game sweep, MiraCosta improved their reocrd to 21-6, 7-0 in conference, and are currently ranked #8 in the state.  The win extends the Spartan win streak to 14 in a row and 18 out of their last 20.  

The final score of the three sets was 25-15, 25-14, 25-23. Hayley Huntsman recorded a double-double with 33 assists and 10 digs. Jazleigh Ortiz added 14 digs and three aces while the offense was fueled by the balanced attack of Halie Hess (11 kills), Claire Kinder (11 kills), Violeti Faleumu (7 kills) and Reilly Bosworth (7 kills).  Sophomore Claudia Mathews contributed three kills and five blocks.

The Spartans will conclude the conference schedule Friday November 3rd at home vs. San Bernardino Valley College at 6pm.
