Bio
Coach Cam Smith has been coaching girls and boys basketball for six years. She is the director of ThriveSD, San Diego’s premier youth basketball league. It is at ThriveSD she contributes to providing a positive, highly competitive environment, to encourage and facilitate the youth’s engagement and love for basketball.
During high school the San Diego native made three C.I.F. appearances, is a back to back C.I.F. champion, and made three state playoff appearances. Following this, she would obtain her Associate Degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences at San Diego Mesa College then transfer to University of California San Diego where she would graduate with a degree of Bachelor of Arts with a Major of Visual Arts (Studio) and a Minor in Art History. She became the head coach of the Creative Performing Media Arts Middle School girls basketball team at 18 years old and shortly after would join the boys team as an assistant coach. Following this, Cam obtained the position as the junior varsity coach at her alma mater, Madison High School, in 2024, as well as a varsity assistant and statistician.
