Bio

Coach Andrew Bennett enters his fourth year as the head coach of the MiraCosta College beach volleyball program.  Last year the team finished with a 21-10 record and advanced to the 3C2A state championships.  In 2024 he led the team to another appearance at the state championships, finishing third.

Andrew rejoined the MiraCosta family in 2023 after leading the beach volleyball team to a State Runner Up finish in 2018 as the interim head coach.  He has a depth of experience in the beach volleyball world as the Director of Tamarack Beach Volleyball since 2012.  Coach Bennett was named the AVCA/American Volleyball Coaches Association National Club Director of the Year in 2021.  He also participated in the 2022 ISF U18 High School World Championships in Normandy, France.  

While he was the interim head coach at MiraCosta, he led the Spartans to a 2nd Place finish in the CCCAA team state playoff.  That year, the Spartans also had a pair finish in 3rd place in the State Pairs tournament.

Coach Bennett has run the Relentless Beach Volleyball showcases and tournaments since 2013.

His experience in coaching goes beyond his beach volleyball resume.  He also has coached indoor volleyball at Cal State San Marcos (2011-12), New Jersey Institute of Technology (2010-11), the College of New Jersey (2006-07) and with USA Volleyball (2008-2014.)
